Immune Recovery Foundation for Cancer and Immune Diseases

The Immune Recovery Foundation for Cancer and Immune Diseases, a non-profit organization headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is dedicated to the support of medical research and development of new treatment and cures for cancer and other diseases and disorders that attack the body’s immune system.

Breast cancer, lymphoma, lung cancer and prostate cancer as well as autoimmune diseases including arthritis, lupus, crohn's disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, myastenia gravis and scleroderma are among a group of serious medical conditions caused by intrinsic, extrinsic and or genetic defects in the immune system; in fact the World Health Organization recognizes nearly 100 of these diseases that affect millions of people in the United States and throughout the world. Years ago, a diagnosis of a cancer or an immune system disorder meant an extremely compromised life for the patient and perhaps a direct family member. Today, with early diagnosis and appropriate therapies, many patients with that same diagnosis can live healthy, productive lives.

One of the greatest challenges faced by individuals diagnosed with cancer or immune system disease is finding the right information and resources when they need it. With knowledge and foresight from their personal experience the founders of the Immune Recovery Foundation for Cancer and Immune Diseases seek to help meet those needs. It is with the spirit and energy of this keen perspective that IRFCID exists today, thriving as an organization dedicated to individuals living with cancer and immune diseases.
